Moisture-resistant bathroom construction

Bathrooms in Sonoma County need proper waterproofing, ventilation, wall backing, and subfloor preparation. We address those systems before tile and finishes cover them.

Bathroom remodeling questions

How much does a bathroom remodel cost?
It depends on the room's size, whether the layout changes, and the fixtures and finishes chosen, so we do not publish a price list. We come to the house, measure, and put one price and a schedule in writing before any work starts.
How does a bathroom remodel run, from start to finish?
In the same eight phases on every job: preconstruction, procurement, demo and site prep, rough-in and inspections, walls and surfaces, finish installation, trim-out, and close out. Our Remodel Handbook walks through each one, with its typical length and what we need from you along the way.
Do you pull the permits for a bathroom remodel?
Yes, where the work needs them, and we manage the application and the inspections. Forestville, Guerneville, Occidental, Graton, Monte Rio, Bodega Bay and Penngrove are unincorporated, so their permits go through Permit Sonoma; Sebastopol, Windsor, Healdsburg, Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Cotati, Petaluma and Sonoma have their own building departments.
What happens if you find water damage or dry rot?
It is repaired before anything new goes on. Subfloors, framing and failed waterproofing found when the old bathroom comes out are fixed as part of the remodel, not covered over.
Can we stay in the house during the remodel?
Yes. One crew runs the job from demolition to the last fixture and keeps the rest of the house livable while the work goes on.
